It is here that enthusiasts of kayaking will find an adventure. In these diversitied landscapes there are lots of possibilities to choose from. There are plenty of excellent kayaking routes. Both beginners and experienced kayakers can select a route suiting their skills and will enjoy picturesque sights of meandering rivers and scenic lakes. for beginnersfor those with experience for mariners for beginnersBeginners and those with some experience can paddle through delightful rivers in the shadow of huge pines and oaks going down the slopes of ravines to wash their roots and the reflections of their crowns in the cool and clean water. Those routes are kept in good condition by Polish paddlers, organisers of collective funny canoeing rallies with an unique atmosphere of fun and staying in the unpolluted and luxuriant nature in the company of nice friends. The most beautiful route is the almost two hundred kilometer long Krutynia route. The river winds its way through the land of a Thousand Lakes, among a picturesque landscape of lakes and streams. The Krutynia River is always a wonderful experience, a close encounter with lush nature, beautiful lakes and the wildlife of the Pisz Forest.

The route follows the stream of the Czarna Hancza almost all the time, but some times leads across lakes, too. Thus, the kayakers paddle through the Wigry, Serwy and Niecko lakes as well as along the Augustowski canal built some 150 years ago. The route is about 100 kilometres long and begins on Lake Wigry to end at Augustow. The major part of the route leads through the Augustow Forest. Another interesting Mazurian route is that of the Drweca River which is one of the clearest rivers in Poland. It is about 200 km long. It starts at Ostroda, flows through forests and wildlife reserves, and goes all the way to the Vistula River near Torun. Comfortable sites for camping are found on both riverbanks. There is an annual "International Cannoe Trip on Drweca river", which is popular among cannoeists from many countries. The Brda River is considered by many kayakers as Europe's most beautiful. The route along the Brda takes you north of Bydgoszcz and runs through the scenic landscape of the Bory Tucholskie Forest and conjoins a few lakes. The rapid current of the river, its numerous meanders, clear waters and fresh air, thick forests and rich natural environment fosters your active rest here. Although there are sections of typical highland character, the route is relatively easy to get through and therefore can be also recommended to beginners. for those with experienceExperienced tourists can seek adventures along more challenging whirls and rocks of mountain rivers. Kayak trips for groups are organised on the Dunajec River, which seems to be the best choice, also because of its picturesque gorges in the Pieniny Mountains. for marinersAnd those who like big waves and long routes and have good canoes may paddle through the routes offered for sailors. All of them are also accessible for paddlers except for the Szczecinski and Wislany artificial lakes, these are allowed only for sea canoes. There are approximately 3,000 km of typical sailing routes. |
